Playfords Ltd were engaged under a design and build contract to undertake all of the building services for the renovation and refurbishment a new academy on the site of an existing secondary school, the enhancement of the existing Primary school wing and construction of new SEN Block.
The Project was delivered over three phases – the original primary block being converted into a temporary SEN for the new school year starting in September 2012. Playfords Ltd were engaged in July 2012 and delivered the first phase within a fast-track delivery system to achieve the opening of this section.
The Main Block was renovated and refurbished with new services in parallel to the construction of the new SEN Block which was delivered Easter 2013 and the Main Academy Block delivered September 2013.
Playfords Ltd provided the complete design solution working with the architects and structural engineers of Carillion which encompassed all building services:-
